Announcing the Learner Journey Data Jam

This April the Scottish Government is doing something exciting. They have decided to try a radical new approach to working and are opening up some of their education data for developers and designers to rapidly prototype new ideas.

The Learner Journey Data Jam will take place on the weekend of 12—14 April at TechCube, and will be a collaborative event involving developers, designers, learners, practitioners and education sector / policy makers. The purpose of the event is to explore and experiment with existing learner data and discover its potential in helping learners on their educational journey.

The Data Jam is inspired by Culture Hack Scotland and the upcoming NHS Hack Scotland, both of which explore the benefits of open data for empowering individuals and producing innovative new projects.

We are providing some amazing and comprehensive datasets from the education sector, including sets of courses, institutions, statistical analysis of destinations and options amongst many others.

This is a really good opportunity to show the government what can be done when you get amazing people together with amazing data, and this event has the potential to actually affect change in how Scotland is run.

There will be food and drink all weekend and the event is completely free.
